On Always Being Affirmative and Positive

Asked what I can do now, my first answer is fixed: remain positive and affirmative — always. It sounds ordinary, but anyone who runs a company knows how hard "always" is. On days of betrayal and unexpected walls, saying "it's over" is easy. We have decided to say instead: "Now — how do we make this interesting?"

Affirmation is not looking away from reality; it is facing bad facts squarely and searching within them for the material of the next move. Only those who begin from affirmation bring home a harvest even from bad days. And it spreads: culture is grammar repeated. Does your workplace's grammar begin with negation, or affirmation?
