From Which Future Does Your Blueprint Come?

Let me hand you, one last time, the philosophy of time this series has repeated — as a tool of your own. The future's time flows toward the present: we decide the future first and live today by back-calculation; the listing and what lies beyond were all drawn on the blueprint in advance.

Now, a question: from which future is your today back-calculated? From tomorrow's deadline? This quarter's target? Fine back-calculations, both. But live only by short-range ones, and someday the feeling strikes: every day is full, yet headed nowhere. Try placing a dot far away.

Ten years from now — where are you, with whom, doing what, making whom smile? It need not be about work. Back-calculate today from that dot: is the first line of what you should do today the same as the first line of your current to-do list? If it differs — that is your true first line.

What do you work for?
