What You Do After You Leap on Instinct

I have written repeatedly: trust your instinct and leap. Today, what comes after the leap. Move on instinct, and a moment of "this isn't what I imagined" always arrives. People split in two: those who turn back declaring their instinct wrong, and those who correct course while moving.

I leapt to Canada and cried for a month with zero English — but instead of going home, I changed how I learned: from friends, not classrooms. The destination my instinct chose was right; only the route was wrong. Instinct is astonishingly accurate as a compass to the destination, but it never gives directions.

After the courage to leap, the patience to correct. With both, instinct becomes life's strongest weapon.
