Koshien, First Round, 12-0 — Dream Big Anyway

Our Senior Managing Director once played at Koshien, Japan's legendary national baseball stadium. His high school team's motto: "The dream is national champions; the purpose is building character." Facing that outrageous dream in earnest carried them to their first national tournament — where they lost the opening game 12–0.

He laughs: "Even so, it taught me everything. Dream huge. You may not reach the dream itself, but the height you reach rises in proportion to how seriously you chased it." Aim for nationals, and you reach Koshien; aim for the prefectural top eight, and you never touch that soil.
