On My IPO Day, I Ate Dinner at Home as Usual
"How did you celebrate your IPO day?"
My honest answer: I didn't. On July 24, 2026, our company began trading on Nasdaq. That evening, I had an ordinary dinner at home.
Here is why: we had already celebrated — long before it happened.
In Japan, there is an old tradition called yoshuku — "pre-celebration." Cherry-blossom viewing began as a way to celebrate the autumn harvest in advance: celebrate first, and pull that future toward you. That is exactly what we did. Long before our listing, my team and I had already feasted, laughed, and toasted the future we had designed. By the time it arrived, there was nothing left to celebrate. In fact, we were already moving toward the next blueprint — not the following week, not even the next morning, but on listing day itself.
Most people see time flowing from past to future: something happens, then you react. We see it the other way around: the future we have already designed is flowing toward us.
What do you work for?
