Profit is the Strength to Challenge
On profit we offer neither platitudes nor contrarianism. Our manifesto's fourth article is explicit: "Profit is the strength to challenge. We do not deny profit — it is fuel for challenging the future. But we never make profit the sole purpose. Profit is what results from raising people's value and creating joy and smiles."
Speak of profit and be called greedy; speak of dreams and be called naive — leaders face this false choice. Our answer is sequence: purpose is smiles, profit is the result, and profit earned becomes fuel for the next challenge. A dream without profit cannot continue — factories, research, and colleagues' lives go unprotected.
Profit without a dream isn't worth continuing — almost no one can truly work for numbers alone. Our youngest officer wrote the same: "Money follows real results in a real business. Get the order wrong, and nothing works." At thirty-one, he already knows.
