What Wish is in Your Name?
As this series has often told, my name Tomoki carries my parents' wish: "to bring joy to friends." Forty-five years later, my management philosophy is "cherish the companions who rejoice together" and my company's purpose is "make everyone smile." The name's wish and the life's content have converged.
A name is the first blueprint parents give a child — a small prayer repeated every time it is called. Forty-five years of being called Tomoki, I truly believe, steered my life toward friends and joy. So let me ask: what wish is held in your name? Who chose those characters, and with what feeling?
If you have never asked, ask while someone who knows still can — within lies someone's earnest prayer from the day you were born. Then set that wish beside who you are today. You may find you, too, have been walking your blueprint.
What do you work for?
