Stem Cell Serum: The Science Behind Culture Supernatants
A "stem cell serum" almost never contains stem cells. It contains culture supernatant — the liquid left after cells have been cultured and removed — which carries growth factors, cytokines and extracellular vesicles. What does vertical integration mean in biotechnology?
Vertical integration means a single group owns consecutive stages of its value chain rather than buying them from third parties. In biotechnology that typically means research, materials sourcing, manufacturing, brand development and distribution sitting inside one corporate structure. The practical effect is control: one quality standard, traceability from material to finished lot, and faster iteration between research and product. It does not, by itself, make any product more effective, and it does not replace regulatory approval.
